Transforming Rebid Success Across a Company Portfolio
We were asked to support a mid-sized healthcare company to work across a range of rebids and change its approach to rebidding. The company had historically won only 30% of its rebids. Over the next two years it had 50% of its turnover up for rebid across 10 contracts.
We worked with the directors, bid team and operational teams to review their contracts, create a rebid preparation process, and support each rebid submission. This included:
- Delivering workshops for each contract team 9 months prior to their rebid process starting. These gave the operational teams an understanding of the process, the importance of the rebid, and set a plan for preparing the contract for the rebid
- Creating a strategy and action plan for each contract’s rebid preparation period, including influencing customers on specification, scope and format of their rebid procurements
- Working with each contract team and the rebid team to progress their action plan, gather information about customer requirements, make changes and improvements to the contract to prepare for the rebid and the next contract.
- Introducing new processes and approaches across the company to improve the delivery of contracts and create material for rebids. Examples included new outcome based user surveys and new reporting methods for customers.
- Supporting each rebid submission with solution design, review, editing and where needed rewrites to answers
The result was a transformation in results, with a 90% win rate on the 10 rebids completed over the crucial two year period supporting an increase in turnover.
Customer Feedback
“Nigel from Rebidding Solutions has bought to us a clearer view of what it takes to win rebids and helped us put in place the actions that have delivered those wins. In particular he has helped the business understand the dynamics of relationships with customers and how to develop them over the life of the contract to create a real partnership that has bought wins on both sides.
Nigel has worked very well with contract teams and the bid team, but also on a strategic level with the directors and senior management. He has effected a change in our business around understanding the drivers of the client and how important it is to see a contract as a ‘living’ entity that needs to grow and be developed to show thought leadership and a modernising approach which is seen as refreshing by our customers.
His advice and support has also helped us put in place and refine a range of initiatives that have moved us closer to our customers and delivered market leading new approaches which we believe will help us across the business, not just in winning future rebids.”
